Regional Transit Development Plans (RTDP)

Spatial Plans is proud to have assisted two of Georgia’s twelve Regional Commissions in building their Transit Development Plans. These plans bring together state and federal funding to identify transit needs, guide long-term investments, and help communities build a shared vision for efficient regional transit. The process emphasizes collaboration across multiple partners to create sustainable and well-connected systems. With a 20-year planning horizon and updates every 5 years, TDPs also outline near-term projects that can be implemented within 5 years.

Project Initiation and Management – Co-ordinate kickoff and monthly Project Study Team meetings, provide monthly progress reports and invoicing, review project schedules, and align work with the Statewide Transit Plan.
Public Engagement Support – Review and provide input on the Public Participation Plan, facilitate selected stakeholder interviews and Advisory Committee/public meetings (both in-person and virtual), and supply technical content for surveys, alternatives analysis, and vision/goals development.
Existing Conditions and Data Review – Lead development of map templates, coordinate technical strategies with team partners, and provide quality assurance reviews of the Existing Conditions Report.
Alternatives Analysis Leadership – Lead drafting and finalization of the Alternatives Analysis and Recommendations Report, including development of service alternatives, evaluation of transit options, and incorporation of public/stakeholder input.
Draft and Final TDP Review – Provide quality assurance on the Executive Summary, contribute supporting appendices, respond to feedback on Spatial Plans’ content, and prepare presentation slides for the SGRC Regional Council.
